Danish New Music Days
In December, 2007 Muzyka Centrum Art Society together with Academy of Music in Cracow, Danish Embassy, Danish Culture Institute and Polish Society for Electroacoustic Music is organising Danish New Music Days. The big variety of Danish new music will be arranged in series of events: electroacoustic music concert, symphonic concert, organ recital, as well as seminars and presentations. The Cracow event is devoted to Danish music written in the second half of 20. century and in recent years, with, as key figures, Per Nørgård and Bent Sørensen, who accepted our invitation to Cracow. The only one and important exception will be Carl Nielsen’s 5. Symphony: we decided to put his work on the programme as Nielsen’s music is still very little performed in Poland so we feel we should use the occasion to pay tribute to the great composer. < back |
