GPS-Trans 1
GPS-Trans 1 (part of krakow.cafe9.net) was realized on December 16, 17, 2000 in form of Internet composition (12 hours webcast in four 3-hours blocks). Mobile phones transmitted sounds from different regions of the city formed „live”, net-cellphone Sound Map of the City (and around). Transmission was available through krakow.cafe9.net. Sound from 16 mobile phones were transformed in studio and sent through Internet from the transmitting station – PowerBook G3. After 15 seconds of Internet delay signal was received by PC station and then looped and sent again creating a rising sound wave. This particular technique is a basis of the original sound processes: Internet Delay and Internet Loop. GPS-Trans 1 was also a very first local non- commercial Internet station. GPS-Trans 1 was sponsored by PTK Centertel.
